Kinja'd!!!

There's no choice here until SRT comes out with a new ACR.

Point is, even the base SRT stomped the old ACR from a pure acceleration standpoint.

Can't wait for the new ACR.

Nice runs. The Gen V did quite a good job.

The SRT is only "base" trimwise.

Uh..what else is there?

It certainly isn't an ACR. Or a T/A.

North Houston.

Sure, in a straight line but I wanna see it keep up in the turns.

It won't. If nothing else this just shows the raw power difference.

The new Viper TA is, however, quicker in the turns than the old ACR. So when the new ACR comes out, I'd imagine there will be a pretty decent performance gap between it and the last gen.

Bigger and better. Onward and upward. Fun comparison.

Doesnt the Viper ACR hold the Nurburgring record? Id like to see what the 2013 SRT can do on the ring!

It does. The '13 Viper TA beat it at Laguna Seca though, and I don't believe they've run it at the 'ring yet.

Sure, but the way you were saying it, one could assume there's already a higher power model out there.
Also, this SRT has the Track Pack, meaning that it's pretty much the highest performing Viper that's not a TA.

There will be a higher performing Viper. The TA is already certain. An ACR isn't far behind. I don't think "the way I said it" was misleading at all. Taking a current SRT versus the baddest of the bad last gen.

Slow Sunday?

Not only does it look like the new T/A will beat the ACR 'ring record, but a car with a regular manual 6 speed will continue to hold the record on one of the most demanding tracks in the world. Imagine how much faster the car would be around some of these tracks with a double clutch box? I am glad they still only offer it with a manual transmission, but there's a reason no one rows their own gears anymore in the high end racing series.

Was pretty cool to see 'em out at C&C. Although I didn't go, I've certainly seen the pics.
